Benefits

Heat sealing has the following benefits compared to conventional adhesive sealing:

  • high degree of reliability for automated sealers
  • no exposed adhesive
  • the underside of the seal is non-tacky at room temperature - reduces the risk of contamination
  • no adhesion of dry samples to the film
  • cost effective - on average 25% cheaper than corresponding adhesives
  • wide range of materials available

And, as with all 4titude® plate seals:

  • certified free from nucleases and human genomic DNA contamination

4s2™ Thermal Sealer 4s2™ Thermal Sealer:
A semi automatic thermal sealer compatible with a wide range of seals and plates of differing designs and heights, and variable temperature and time settings.
Clear Seal Clear Seal:
Clear polymer film forming a peelable seal, for qPCR and short term compound storage.
Clear Weld Seal Mark II Clear Weld Seal Mark II:
Clear polymer film forming a permanent seal with good optical clarity and solvent resistance, for PCR (especially water bath thermal cyclers), qPCR, storage and disposal of hazardous samples.
Clear Seal 3730 Clear Seal 3730:
Clear pierceable polymer with good optical clarity, recommended for use with the ABi 3730 Sequencer.
Peel Seal Peel Seal:
Peelable laminate material for low temperature compound storage and PCR.
DMSO Resistant Peel Seal DMSO Resistant Peel Seal:
Peelable laminate material with high resistance to solvents even at elevated temperatures, for compound storage with DMSO and other organic solvents.
Pierce Seal Pierce Seal:
Pierceable foil based material with good solvent resistance, for compound storage, sample shipping and PCR.
Pierce Seal Strong Pierce Seal Strong:
Pierceable foil based material with good solvent resistance that forms a weld seal that cannot be peeled, ideal for high temperature and high pressure applications such as water bath thermal cycling.
Foil Seal Foil Seal:
Pierceable and peelable foil seal with good solvent resistance, for compound storage and PCR
Thermal Bond Thermal Bond:
Heavy duty laminate material that gives a strong peelable seal with good solvent resistance, for storage, transportation and PCR.
Black Seal Black Seal:
A foil based seal with a surface coating of a low fluorescence black pigment for fluorescent and other light sensitive assays.
Gas Permeable Heat Seal Gas Permeable Heat Seal:
A woven seal permeable to gases for cell culture, incubation, seed and insect storage.
